Do you fix my PC at my place?
Yes. The place of service provision is up to you as far as the nature of the problem/task permits it. Based on your convenience, I work on your PC either at your premise or you bring it to my place, Cowgate, 23 Eastern Way, NE5 3HS. Alternatively, I can also come and collect the PC if you prefer that.
What are the major procedures in your repair services?
When you contact PC Fix @ Once to ask for help, I undertake an initial diagnosis to identify the problem/s. This initial check costs £15. Then depending on the problem identified, I give you a quote for undertaking the fix plus any replacement parts cost. At this stage you can approve the proposed fix and agree to pay the required fee so that the completed work will be compensated. Or else you decline to commit with the suggested repair work/s without any further obligation except the initial diagnosis fee.
How long should I wait to get my repaired PC back?
For new software and hardware configurations, it is usually same day service. For repair it takes 2 to 5 days. But this is not written in stone since computer problems vary in nature and severity and the corresponding time required for fixing a problem varies. As a quality assurance arrangement, I tell you an estimate of time after initial check and based on queue size, if any. At this stage you use your discretion to continue or stop my service without any further obligation except covering the initial check fee of £15.
What do you do to secure data I have on my computer during maintenance/repair?
First of all I check if taking data backup is required given the nature of the problem in your PC. If taking back up is a must, the first option is you take a data backup at your place and secure the data. The first option is considered only if you have the storage and technical know-how needed. But if this is not the case, I will securely take a data backup before the repair and will reload it after the problem is fixed. Also, your data in the backup device, if back up is taken, will be destroyed in your presence.
In relation to the above point, please note that data backup is different from data recovery. While data backup is a free service, data recovery is for a pay, the exact fee level depends on the complexity of procedures involved since this, in turn, varies depending on the condition of the data source device.
What should I bring with my PC?
In the case of PCs, unlike laptops, you only need to bring the case and not components like keyboard, mouse, monitor, and printers unless you want me to specifically check them. Also, in the case of laptops, printers, external storage devices, web cams, please bring the AC adapter or the power cable and set up CDs you initially got with the device, if available. In case of software re-installs, please bring original and licensed software.
Do you have queue jumps, same day or next day services?
Yes I have such special services – express turn around - for extra charge. But the charge depends on the nature of the problem, how urgent it is and the size of the existing queue, if any. The best thing to do is calling me to get more information on availability and to get an instant quote.
